Saving On Amazon – My #1 Tip

I sometimes get compensated for working with brands through Amazon gift cards. As a result, I do a lot of shopping on Amazon. I’ve been an Amazon Prime member since around 2011 I believe. The convenience of having items delivered to my home in 2-3 days from the time of order is just so convenient.

I like feeling like I’m saving money though, and it can be tough to save money on Amazon as they rarely offer coupons. When they do have coupons it’s typically for small household items like toothpaste or cosmetics, that tend to be overpriced on the site to begin with.

My #1 way for saving money on Amazon is by using coupon codes from Vipon.com. It used to be a site where you could get a discount, or even a completely free item, in exchange or giving a review of the item. Amazon changed its policies a while back, so it’s no longer possible to require a review in exchange for a discount. However, the site continues to exist with the new policy being, you may leave a review, but you do not have to. Now, there are very rarely any free items, but it’s common to get around 50% off.

I used to use Vipon.com just to see if there were any free items that I was interested in. Now, I use it before buying something on Amazon. For example, we’ve been using shredded chicken a lot recently. I’ve seen those “claws” around that people use to shred meat. I thought they would be convenient to have instead of using two forks all the time. I looked up those claws on Amazon and found that they ranged from around $9.50-$12. Then I looked them up on Vipon, and found a set for $5.90 that included the claws, some marinating brushes, and some grill/oven mitts!

I try not to use Vipon just for seeing what is available because it leads me to want to buy things I don’t need. However, I always check it out before purchasing something on Amazon. If you select a deal it will give you a coupon code or gift card code instantly so there is no delay in your purchase.

On occasion, the codes will be expired, but it’s happened to me maybe once out of every 10 attempts or so, so it’s fairly rare.

I also occasionally check JumpSend.com. It seems to have a smaller selection, but sometimes it has items that Vipon.com does not.

Do you use Vipon or similar sites to save money on Amazon? I’d love to hear about other sites you use and have good luck with.
