August Life Update

It’s been about six months since my last general life update so I thought it was time!

This weekend is my sisters wedding. I am a bridesmaid and Ryan is playing videographer. I am excited and hoping to get through it without crying too much.

I bought some very light pink or nude colored nail polish, some white nail polish and nail stickers to do a french manicure and pedicure for the wedding. My little sister was here a couple nights ago and we tried it out and it worked out well. I was kind of impressed given that I had never had a manicure or pedicure done before, at all, ever.

We are planning to buy a car this fall. We’ve had pretty non-stop problems with our truck since the beginning of the year. It’s running at the moment but it needs more work. It’s pretty old so it’s just time to get another car before it quits for good.

We were hoping to get up to our family’s cabin this summer but it didn’t happen, largely due ot the car issues. We’ve also spent a lot of money at the vet. Our old veterinarian is partially retired, and a younger vet took over as the main person practicing in his office. The rates for visits have increased dramatically. Plus our dogs are getting older and both have had more health issues this year than in the past so between having more appointments and more expensive appointments the money has really added up.

Just today we were supposed to bring in a urine sample from Beans. She had been on an antibiotic to treat a UTI and they wanted to make sure it was gone. We took the sample in and about half an hour later they called to say they accidentally threw away the sample without finishing the test so they need a new sample. If she does still have a UTI then we will have to have a scan done to see if she may have a more significant bladder or kidney problem.

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost time to start preparing for the holiday gift guide over at Emily Reviews.

For a while we considered moving to a new apartment this November when our lease is up but I think we have changed our minds. We have decent neighbors right now which is really nice.

Our 10 year anniversary is coming up in October which is a little mind blowing. 10 seems like a significant number.
